Rumpke Recycling Program

St. Susanna is participating in the Recycle Challenge, an educational and rewarding program based on aluminum can recycling. Recycling of aluminum cans will be available 24 hours a day/7 days a week at the school.  Through this program, the students will gain appreciation for the importance of recycling and how easy it is to help protect the environment.  At the same time, St. Susanna School can use the money earned for a variety of projects that will help further the school-wide effort to help take better care of God’s Earth by going “green”. The program was kicked off with school assemblies last year. During the assembly, students learned many ways to help take care of the environment by simply changing a few of their daily routines.

In an effort to achieve maximum participation in the Recycle Challenge program, depositing of the aluminum cans will be made as easy as possible.  A blue and yellow recycling bin is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and is located in the rear parking lot of St. Susanna School located at 500 Reading Rd., behind the school, along the line of pine trees.  The aluminum cans collected should be emptied before placing them into the bin. Any plastic bags or other containers that are used to carry the aluminum cans should not be put into the bin. Smashing the cans first will help them take up less room at home and in the recycling container.

St. Susanna School encourages everyone in the area to participate – all it takes is help from you bringing in cans.  It is a great way to remind everyone of the importance of recycling, while at the same time challenging them to work together for a worthy cause.  St. Susanna is proud to be making a school-wide effort to Go Green.

Thank you to everyone for the terrific response we have had from many people who have contributed.  A reminder to everyone that ONLY aluminum cans should go in the dumpster. Please NO plastic bottles, glass bottles, tin cans, paper or plastic bags, and especially no food waste
